The New Shelter Opened March 2006

Aspen is a town that loves its pets! Besides being a mecca for the sophisticated, Aspen is also a community of caring individuals who want their four-legged loved ones looked after in a safe and happy environment. Affection and enthusiasm for animals, particularly dogs and cats, are evident throughout the town. Dogs go to offices and on hikes with their owners and even amuse crowds in local parades. Lodges and homes have resident cats who greet visitors with a rub and a purr.

Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter, formerly called the Aspen/Pitkin Animal Shelter Capital Campaign, is a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible. While we have fulfilled our misssion of building the new shelter, we will continue to fund-raise in order to make improvements to the new shelter and to improve the quality of life for animals in the Roaring Fork Valley.
