Popular in Scandinavian countries and in pockets of the United States, skijoring is a sport that combines nordic skiing and dog sledding. This introduction to skijoring will be led by Dawn Shepard, Seth Sachson and Ed Foran and will cover basic equipment, techniques to encourage your dog to pull, and how to skijor safely and responsibly out on the trail. Equipment will be available for use at the clinic and will be available for sale at the Aspen Animal Shelter pet store, Aspen Wags to Riches. Nordic skiing experience is a plus but if you are a beginner, come anyway and we will get you started on the right foot!!
Pre-registration is required and space is limited so please register early!!
